Michael J. Henry was born and raised on a farm in northeast Nebraska. He attended college at Chadron State College and received a Bachelor of Arts degree. After graduation, he worked with at-risk youth for several years, then attended The University of South Dakota where he obtained a Juris Doctor.
Mike began serving as Deputy Phelps County Attorney in 2011. He was appointed Phelps County Attorney in 2013, then elected in 2014 and 2018. During the entirety of his time in public service, he also maintained a private practice. Mike joined Fye Law Office in 2023, where he primarily handles estate planning, probate, corporation formation, and works with fire departments and rural fire districts.
Mike currently serves as Treasurer of Nebraska Crime Stoppers. He previously served on the boards for Central Nebraska Drug Court and the Nebraska County Attorneys Association, and as a volunteer firefighter and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).
In his spare time, Mike enjoys scuba diving, cave diving exploration, spearfishing, traveling, and occasionally hunting.
