This book is true crime. The book includes both the writings of Michelle McNamara herself, as well as sections that were written posthumously by her friends and research assistants, based on her notes. It examines the case of the Golden State Killer, also known as the East Area Rapist (EAR). It’s very good, with the portions written by McNamara herself better, but I decided probably not the best book to read while your husband is gone on a trip and you’re alone in the house, as the Golden State Killer broke into people’s homes and raped and murdered them.
